◆主題
「アーカイヴィングから見るジェンダー（2nd Round）」
◆到達目標
　本授業は、2024年度前期《ジェンダー論入門》「アーカイヴィングから見るジェンダー」（http://www.arsvi.com/d/2024igs.htm）の姉妹編（もしくはオルタナティヴヴァージョン）として位置づくものである。
　本授業が目指すプロセスは、【1】「アーカイヴィング［Archiving］」の視点からジェンダーについて考察することで、私たちを取り巻く「歴史」がいかにジェンダーに規定されているのかを確認し、【2】その問題に対していかなる取り組みが可能であり、必要とされているのかを理解し、【3】その具体的な手立てをすでに存在する成果をもとにして検討することにある。
　注意すべき点は、本授業が専門的なアーカイヴィングの技法を学ぶものや、歴史学――とりわけ「ジェンダー史」――の専門的内容を学ぶものではない点である。ここで私たちが問題とするのは、［1］アーカイヴィングという領域・現場・理念においてジェンダーがいかように作用しているのか／してきたのか、［2］その背景要因はなにか、［3］そこにはどのような構造的・現実的問題があるのか、［4］その問題に対してどのような変革が必要であるのか、［5］その変革のためにいかなる実践がなされてきたのか／いるのか、［6］そうした実践を（非専門家の）私たちはどのようにして取り入れることができるのか、である。
　本授業は、前半を概論編（理論編）、後半を各論編（事例編）とする構成をとる。概論編では、「アーカイヴィング」と「歴史学」の関わりや、「歴史学」と「ジェンダー」の関係、そしてアーカイヴィングにおけるジェンダー的課題について、基本的な要点を学ぶ。各論編では、主にイギリスの事例を題材として、多様な形態のアーカイヴが取り組んできた、ジェンダー的課題を乗り越えるための様々な貴重な実践と、その成果を確認する（ここでは「アーカイヴ」を広義の概念で捉え、「ライブラリー」も対象として含める）。以上の内容から、私たち一人一人の自律的・主体的なアーカイヴィング活動によってジェンダー正義の実現に向けた小さな変革を進めていくことは十分に可能であり大きな意義がある、という認識を共有する。そして最終的に本授業は、受講生各自が「それでは自分には何ができるのか」を模索し、構想するプロセスへと誘っていく。
　受講生に求められる到達目標は以下の2点に集約される。
　【A】［a］ジェンダーの観点から見て「公正」なアーカイヴィングとはどのような形態のものか、［b］それを実現するためにはどのような意識・行為主体性と現実的な実践が必要なのか、［c］アーカイヴィングに関する専門的な技能・知識をもたない一般の人々が担うことのできる役割・活動はどのようなものか、を的確に理解すること。
　【B】Aの理解をふまえて、ジェンダー正義に向けたアーカイヴィング活動に、何らかのかたちで（直接的であれ間接的であれ）主体的に関与する構想を現実的に組み立てること。

◆Theme
"Perceiving Gender Issues Through the Perspective of Archiving (2nd Round)"
◆Objectives
This class is positioned as a companion piece (or an alternative version) of the 《Introduction to Gender Studies》 in the first semester of 2024 "Perceiving Gender Issues Through the Perspective of Archiving" (http://www.arsvi.com/d/2024igs.htm).
The process that this class aims to follow is: [1] to confirm how the 'history' that surrounds us is defined by gender by examining gender from an 'archiving' perspective, [2] to understand what kind of approaches are necessary and possible to address the issue, and [3] to examine the specific measures based on the results that already exist.
It is important to note that this class is not a study of specialized archiving techniques or the specialized content of historiography ― particularly 'gender history'. The issues we are to work through here are: (1) how is/was gender working in the field/scene/principle of archiving, (2) what are the background factors, (3) what are the structural and practical problems, (4) what kind of changes are needed to address those problems, (5) what kind of practices have been/are there for such changes, and (6) how can we (as non-professionals) incorporate such practices.
This class is structured with the first half as an overview section (theory study) and the second half as an details section (case study). In the overview section, we learn the basic essentials of the relationship between 'archiving' and 'historiography', the relationship between 'historiography' and 'gender', and gendered issues in archiving. In the details section, we verify the various valuable practices and outcomes of overcoming gendered issues that have been addressed by diverse forms of archives, mainly in the case of the UK ― in this process, 'archive' is taken in a broad sense and 'library' is included as a subject. Through the above work, we share the recognition that it is fully possible and significant to promote small changes toward the realization of gender justice through the autonomous and proactive archiving activities by each one of us. Ultimately, this class encourages each student to experience the process of exploring and envisaging "then, what can 'I' do?".
The objectives required of the students can be summarized in the following two points.
[A] To understand precisely (a) what forms of archiving are 'fair' from a gender perspective, (b) what kind of awareness, agency (subjectivity towards action) and practical activities are needed to realise them, (c) what roles and activities can be undertaken by ordinary people who do not have specialist skills and knowledge of archiving practices.
[B] Based on the above understanding, to construct a realistic action plan of proactive engagement (whether directly or indirectly) in some form of archival activities towards gender justice.
●Note: This class requires a certain level of Japanese language skills.
