TATEIWA Shin'ya "We should Tolerate Withdrawal of "Campaign Pledge" of The Democratic Party of Japan"

The Kyoto Shimbun September 19, 2009 Morning Edition:26

@A change of regime was led by people's demand for change and secure feeling that it would not change much even if the change of government was made.
@Concerning defense and foreign diplomacy, I thought that it should be OK for Japan to value its autonomy and complain to the U.S. a little more after accepting the fact that little change would be made since there was few differences between Liberal Democratic Party and The Democratic Party of Japan. In addition, I thought that management of the economy under international competition would not change much. In this cabinetmaking, there are well-known cabinet members in these areas.
@On the other hand, at the time of election, it was not clear which direction political parties and people were headed for although changed was pursued.
