Significant progress has been made in medical technologies for infertility. How and when was artificial insemination by donor (AID) which had been conducted for more than 60 years started and how did it change a parent-child relationship? Following the history of medical technologies for infertility from Meiji to 1960s, the author finds out the change of the concept of postwar "families".
