Starting from the existing impairment/illness which cannot be separated from individual body easily, the author describes issues in the modern society.
In this book the author discusses the history of hemophiliacs and association for hemophilia/hemophilia community from the late 1960s to 1980s, and he develops his disucssion, with hemophiliacs at the core, toward various themes including medical technologies, public expenditure, school education, mass media, eugenic thoughts, and the issue of infectious diseases. The author plays an active role in reexamining the society viewed from hemophilia, not dealing with hemophilia as some concrete example.
