Research Center Ars Vivendi at Ritsumeikan University (Kyoto City) published a report Techniques of Support for Students with Visual Disabilities (Printed 182 pages, A5 size). The center offers the report free of charge (except the actual postage cost).

This report summarizes the techniques available to support students with visual disabilities in higher educational institutions such as university. It overviews the situation of support in universities, introduces support techniques using computers and text data, and covers copy-write issues and publishers' cooperations. It also includes the actual guidebook of how to prepare text data, based on experience of the university's support group.

Mr. AOKI Shintaro of Graduate School of Core Ethics and Frontier Sciences, who has weak eyes and edited the report says, "We hope this report can improve the accessibility in study and research for people with visual disabilities". The center can also provide text data of the report by email or CD-ROM, and plans to make the DAISY format publication as well.
