「Group for Women's Rights and Sexuality [1989] was a pioneering text in offering a feminist perspective on reproductive technologies in Japan and made an important contribution by presenting both basic information and many arguments surrounding these issues, but here too many of these sorts of violent claims can be found. Kanejuu [1989] does not stop at listing the arguments made regarding these issues and expressing a general sense of unease regarding these technologies but goes on to compare and contrast the different points which have been raised and offer her own opinions on the extent to which each is actually a problem, and here again these sorts of claims clearly emerge. After arguing for the fundamental protection of a woman's right to self-determination, she proposes the following "treatment standards regarding permissable reproductive technologies": 1) sufficient information must be provided (1) along with everyone else writing on this issue agree with her on this) and (2) a "whole-person ethics of childbirth". This means ①"reproduction" must not be separated from "human sexual relationships" and ② children's rights must be protected.
