■ Open Lecture Cinema Education "Humanity and Society Today" Series11 - "Men’s Ways: Life-sized Images"

◆ Objectives
The 11th open lecture of our series Cinema Education “Humanity and Society Today” entitled “Men’s Ways: Life Sized Images” will be held at Ritsumeikan University.

The objective of this series of open lectures is to offer participants an opportunity to think deeply about humanity and society as they are today through an analysis of the “states of interrelatedness” depicted in cinema.

These events, incorporating both films and post-screening discussions and lectures, are intended to broaden our horizons as we are exposed to ideas that are occasionallyastounding, sometimes provocative, and often quite unsettling. After the lecture delicious coffee will be served in the lobby. We invite you to relax and enjoy deepening your exchange with the lecturers and other members of the audience while engaging in “studies in cinema and humanity” in the form of open-ended discussions and debates that need not have any resolution.

In series 11, “Men’s Ways: Life-sized Images,” we take a look at movies featuring “wandering men” and pursue a new form of cinema throughbarrier-free screenings and “deaf movie” presentation.

Attemptsat new methods of screening films and depictions not of heroes but of the ways of life-sized men - what will we get from this double “decentering”?
