Current Disability Studies in UK

Global COE Program for Ars Vivendi in 2008

For the past few years, discussion on disability studies in UK has received attention in Japan and both the Japanese edition of some of the studies and tomes on the studies have been published. Also, since UK has accumulation of cultural studies, Japanese disability studies need to learn many points on its discussion.

We invite both Ms.ICHINOSE, who wrote her master's thesis under supervision of professor Colin BARNES in University of Leeds and Ms.TAJIMA who visited him recently to talk about professor Colin BARNES and the relationship around him, University of Leeds, and of course, professor Colin BARNES' way of thinking etc. in the motif of disability studies in UK. We hope you will sense the outline of disability studies in UK.

**This event is also a part of the course "Disability Studies H" held by Graduate School of Science for Human Services.
