Professor Nagase Osamu of the Institute of Ars Vivendi served as chair of International Review Committee (IRC) that examined the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) in Taiwan and produced detailed recommendations (Concluding Observations) on 6 August 2022. Prof. Nagase served as the chair of the initial review in 2017 as well.

The Recommendations identified, as positive aspects, the establishment of National Human Rights Commission in 2020 and the National Human Aright Action Plan in 2022 and has listed, as general issues, (a) human rights approach, (b) equality and non-discrimination, (c) participation, (d) living in the community, (e) mental health, and (f) disability strategy and across government.
