The programme with links to PDF of presentations in English follows.
The current issue of the Ars Vivendi journal includes one paper and one special section. The paper, by Sachiko Hosoya, examines the choices and experiences in marriage and reproduction of people with a severe type of genetic blood disorder, thalassemia major, which is the target of a worldwide prevention program (“Wishes, Choices and Experiences in Marriage and Reproduction of People with Genetic Diseases: An Example of People with Thalassemia Major in Iran”).
The Special section is on COVID-19 and Persons with Disabilities in East Asia. The first presentation is “The impact of COVID-19 and its policy responses on disabled people in Taiwan” by Chun-Chieh Lin, the second is “The Impact of COVID-19 in Japan on People with Psychosocial Disabilities” by Kasumi Ito, and the third is my presentation, “The Covid-19 Crisis and the Experience of Polio Survivors: Life Before and After a Pandemic”. These three presentations were all given at East Asia Disability Studies Forum 2020, a webinar on COVID-19 and Persons with Disabilities in East Asia, on 18 July 2020.
Take care and stay well.
