It is the innovative practice that is transnational, underground, and of resourcefulness.
We should evaluate the following points of their activity in particular.
The style of activity that crosses over a border lightly and that is full of innovative ingenuity
The practice of alternative 'distribution'
The expansion power making temporary 'places' in sequence
The 'organization' nature not to immobilize with form of amoeba
The gender neutral collective form
At the same time, I will pose the following problems regarding their activity.
The side of fluidity and a one-time-only nature is strong, and the side of durability and accumulation is weak.
Intensive archiving at fixed places is difficult.
Scope of activities is apt to be unevenly distributed.
These will become common problems that other Asian/Japanese distribution groups (or individuals) also should face when they are developing own activities.
We need to continue discussions in future and think of a future plan of action for that to the extent possible.
From my personal point of view, now in European and American zine scene accumulation and education seem to be more valued rather than wide area distribution.
I think that how we should interpret those different characteristics is a stimulating question.
In the venue, zines which each participant and some distros brought were exhibited and sold and the exchange of views was done around them actively.
I was able to exchange opinions with a woman zine researcher who came from Taiwan. That was very significant.
This event must have become a very valuable opportunity for each participant and zine scene of Japan.
