We, Research Center for Ars Vivendi, would like to deliver you the
new year's greeting by Professor Shin'ya Tateiwa, our director.

Happy New Year to all of our readers!

The event concerning disability studies entitled "East Asia
Disability Studies Forum (Former Name: Korea Japan Disability
Studies Forum)", starting from research collaboration between the
Disability Studies Forum in Korea and the Research Center for Ars
Vivendi, welcomes participation of Chinese civil society
organizations since 2014 and last year it was co-hosted at Beijing
by organizations of the three countries for the first time.

This year the event will be held in Kyoto. Although Korea, China
and Japan are neighboring countries, each circumstance is different.
We are still seeking how we can conduct meaningful discussions and
thus make academic achievements. This is not limited to East Asia.
And it can be also said in the area of, for example, bioethics.
Although our research concerning disability studies in Japan has
been progressing, I do not feel it is easy to contextualize it.
Still, we will keep letting people in the world know about our
research in Japan via e-mail newsletters, homepages and Facebook
pages in English, Korean and Japanese.

We are sometimes asked questions. We think that responding to the
questions is one of what we can do.

Lastly, let me tell you about one thing that relates to my own
work. The English version of Shiteki Shoyu Ron (i.e., On Private
Property) is finally ready to be published.

I think there exists universal thoughts while they are diffrent
from the modern mainstream thoughts. I truly hope people in the
world know about it. It will be published via e-book. I will let
you know about its details soon.

As always, we appreciate your continuing support and any advice
concerning our activities.

Sincerely,

Shin'ya Tateiwa
