We, Global COE Program Ars Vivendi, have been conducting research
with people with ALS(amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) / MND(motor
neurone disease) on their life and support of the life, and
examining the ethical issues with them. In February, we invited
persons from South Korea, Taiwan and Mongolia and held a symposium.
The symposium had also simultaneous reporting on the internet.
In addition, a book was published in August and one of the editors
of the book was our grauduate student. Moreover, we held a "Seminar
to Support Communication of People with ALS/MND" with support of

We are eager to promote collaborative research projects with patients'
advocacy groups, non-profit organizations, as well as domestic and
international researchers, apply for competitive research grants and conduct
research projects commissioned by governmental and private institutions.
