Abstract:
Two patients who are diagnosed as chronic aphasia were examined in order to develop the order behavior in restanrants in community. The Speech-Language-Hearing Therapist went to the patients' residence and assessed the aphasiac patients' order behavior. According to the result of this observation, the conditions were identified to form the aimed act. After that, the training of acquiring the order behavior was executed on the simulation setting in the training room. One of the participants became able to complete the order by assistance of the waitress who presented prompts for fulfilling the order. After that, at his home, the participant drew the pictures of food which he ate and showed them to his families. The other participant also became able to complete the order behavior through the similar procedure using photo pictures of cellular phone. After the training, questionnaires were conducted to the storekeepers. The result showed that they desired the Speech-Language-Hearing Therapist to explain to the aphasiacs. From this research, we could find out that it is necessary to outreach the works of Speech-Language-Hearing Therapist to the community for helping the aphasiac patients to establish their lives in their residences.
