KOYAKE Risa
Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to clarify the legal position and support systems for women crime victims who become pregnant. This paper specially focuses on the women crime victims of rape domestic violence.

First, the author investigates the Japanese legal system and NGO supporting crime victims. There are 3 laws.

The laws, however, have no provisions for whom a woman victim becomes pregnant as a result of a crime. Also, in Japan, there are only 37 nongovernmental support organizations for crime victim. Furthermore, those groups are unable to adequately support the needs of crime victim who become pregnant.

Next, the author examines support systems for women victims of rape and domestic violence. Japan has few support systems for rape victims, whether they become pregnant or not. Similarly, the shelters for women victims of DV are very poor, whether they become pregnant or not.

It's very difficult for women crime victims to complete their pregnant with no support. So, the author thinks that the shelter for women crime victims must be established. Moreover, provisions for pregnancy must be added to the laws about crime victims.
