On behalf of Japan Council on Independent Living Centers, we would like to extend our warmest invitation to you and your fellow members to participate in the International Forum on Independent Living from November 2nd to 4th, 1998.

This Forum is being held as part of the 10th commemorative Independent Living Conference that has been held every year for the past ten years. As the Conference secretariat, we are certain that every aspect of the Forum will provide fulfilling experience to all the participants not only from Japan, but also from USA, Great Britain, Korea and the Philippines. The Forum will also make a significant contribution to the development of independent living movement of people with disabilities.

FORUM INFORMATION

Purpose and Objectives

We put the following purpose and objectives for holding the International Forum on Independent Living;
1) Creating a forum for world leaders on independent living to interact and address policy recommendations for the future direction of policy on independent living,
2) Providing an opportunity for the world leaders on independent living to get together to consolidate the foundation and solidarity for the development of independent living movement, and
3) Gathering the wisdom of world leaders on independent living and utilizing
the knowledge for the development of independent living movement in Asian countries.
